October’s Prime Day is here, and these are my picks for the best fitness equipment you can get at a worthwhile discount. Compared to the early deals, I've now added some big-name items, such as Pelotons and Powerblocks, while NordicTrack treadmills and Lifepro dumbbells have dropped in price even further. Most of this fitness equipment can be paired with a fitness tracker or smartwatch, so if you're looking for one of those, check out my full roundup of fitness tracker and smartwatch sales. (I’ll keep updating this article as more things go on sale.)
The best Prime Day deals on weights
This Fitvids Olympic bumper plate set is a good deal, giving you 370 pounds of weight for $399.99. It includes a regulation-sized bar with 2” sleeves, and one pair each of bumper plates in 55, 45, 35, 25, 15, and 10 pounds. Some of those weights are an unusual choice—most of us would skip the 35s and 15s and just get extras of the more common sizes—but there’s nothing wrong with loading a bar this way, and you’ll certainly get plenty of use out of a set like this. (Bumpers are especially good for home gyms since they deaden a bit of the sound and impact of deadlifts on the floor.)
Adjustable dumbbells
Powerblocks are on sale, with these 5 to 50-pound Elite EXP adjustables going for $339.51 for a pair. The 90-pound version is $738.65 for a pair, down from $869.99. A single Powerblock 100, which goes up to 100 pounds, is $509.14, down from $599.99.
This Lifepro pair of 25-pound adjustables is $161.50, normally $199.99. Or get this single 90-pound adjustable dumbbell for $191.99, normally $319.99.
These Cap Barbell adjustable dumbbells go up to 55 pounds and are $209.99 for a pair, down from $299.99 normally.
The best Prime Day deals on cardio equipment
Exercise bikes
The original Peloton Bike is down to $1,045, from $1,445. The Bike+ is $1,795, down from $2,495. (The new Cross Training bikes are not on sale.) If you'd like to pick up some accessories while you're Peloton shopping, the branded square dumbbells are all 15% off today, and many of the Altos premium shoes are deeply discounted. These in size 8 women's/6.5 men's are just $52.98.
Pooboo has its airbike available for $474.99 after a digital coupon, down from a list price of $699.99. Merach's Magnetic Pro screen-enabled spin bike with streaming fitness content is $379.99, down from $699.99
Rowers
Two Hydrow rowers are on sale today. The Hydrow Origin, with a 22” screen and streaming content, is $1,645, down from $2,195. And the Hydrow Wave, with a 16” screen, is $1,694, down from $1,995. For more on this brand, read our own Meredith Dietz’s review of a different model, the Hydrow Arc. She was impressed by both the rower’s build quality and Hydrow’s “genuinely intelligent training experience.” For a budget option, this Merach rower is $450.49, down from $529.99.
Treadmills and more
NordicTrack’s commercial series treadmills are also discounted today, like this Commercial 1250, which is $1,388.81, down from $1,999.99. The T series treadmills are also on sale, like the T Series 5 that's now $449.99, down from $599.99. GMWD has a stepper for $1,599.99, down from $2499.99.
The best Prime Day deals on sensors and wearables
Fitbit has some of its trackers on sale already, including the Charge 6 for $104.45, down from $159.95, and the Inspire 3 for $79.75, down from $99.95. You can read my review of the Charge 6 here—it’s a solid tracker if you’re just looking for the basics.
Some of Polar’s heart rate monitors are on sale as well, including the classic H10 chest strap for $84.74, down from $104.95, and the Verity Sense optical armband monitor for $82.91, down from $104.95. Some people find the armband more comfortable, but an electronic chest strap will always give you the best accuracy.
For more watches and fitness trackers, check out all my best picks for fitness tech deals here. Garmin's premium Venu X1 is on sale for the first time ever, and the Forerunner 55, always a solid basic running watch, has a refurbished version going for $125, the cheapest I've seen it. There's plenty of ground in between, including discounts on Apple, Samsung, and Pixel watches.
The best Prime Day deals on recovery equipment
Theragun massage guns are on sale, including this Theragun Mini for $169.99, down from $219.99. The Normatec compression boot system for legs and hips is $920, down from $1,149.
The best Prime Day deals on home workout equipment
If you're turning a corner of your home into a workout space, few things are more useful than a pull-up bar. Here's a doorway bar for $16.79 (normally $25.99) that doesn't put any holes into your walls—it uses the molding around the door as a support. Or if you're working out in a basement, go for this joist mounted pull-up bar for $33.91 (normally $39.99) which installs with screws.
Weighted vests are also on sale, like this 12-pound vest from Zelus at $29.00, normally $49.99. Other weights are available for various prices, most discounted.
Suspension training systems like TRX are another great buy for at-home workouts. Here's a TRX Go set for $109.95, normally $139.95. While you can attach it to anything sturdy, today is a good day to grab a screw-in mount at a discount. Here's a ceiling mount for $29.95, normally $44.24 and a wall mount for $22.46, normally $29.99.
